Azimio leader storms Kajiado in voter charm offensive

Azimio-One Kenya presidential candidate Raila Odinga on Monday led the Azimio brigade to woo voters in Kajiado county.

 Accompanied by his running mate Martha Karua and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Raila pledged to revive the country’s ailing economy and deal with corrupt leaders.

 Raila who addressed rallies in Ong’ata Rongai, Kware, Ngong and Kiserian, said the Azimio presidential nominee said if elected president in he will spearhead an economic revolution that will liberate Kenyans from chains of poverty.

 He said poverty eradication through access to  education, better health care, cutting cost of living and social protection programmes will be key in realising the wellness of all Kenyans and tangible development. 

 “Our biggest enemy remains corruption, poverty and illiteracy. We have sufficient funds and resources that can improve the living standards of Kenyans but corruption has enriched a few living out desperate Kenyans wallowing in abject poverty. It is about the well being and interest of Kenyans. Corrupt leaders will not have space in my government,” said the ODM leader. 

 The ODM leader further said his government will recognize the informal sector by awarding certificates of competency to ensure appreciation and better returns for the sector including Juakali. 

 Baba Care health scheme, employment and the Sh6,000 monthly stipend for needy Kenyans are among goodies Raila emphasized will improve the lives of Kenyans. 

 He also promised a basket of goodies to Kajiado residents including making the Ong’ata Rongai Kiserian road a dual carriage to ease traffic snarl up rampant in the area.  The former premier took a swipe at Kenya Kwanza leaders terming their promises as unrealistic and untenable. 

 “They have already began changing tune with unrealistic promises of goodies to women and youth but I am sure Kenyans are on high alert and will not fall prey of conmanship,” he said. 

 Karua said under Raila leadership there will be no scared cows on matters corruption  saying Azimio coalition will be an all inclusive government. 

“If you engage in corruption, it does not matter who you are or where you come from facing consequences spelt out in law is a must under our leadership. We must transform this country for the better by eliminating corruption in totality,” said Karua. 

Kalonzo said the country would be safe in the hands of Raila whom he termed as a liberator and a truthful leader.
