DAP-K candidate concedes to Raila’s brother Oburu in Siaya senatorial race

DAP-K candidate Oscar Omondi Onyango has conceded early defeat to ODM's Dr Oburu Oginga in Siaya senatorial race.

In a post on social media on Wednesday, August 10 2022, the DAP-K candidate alluded that the chances of him clinching the seat were slim.

"We must accept this result and look toward the future. Dr Oburu Oginga is going to be our Senator. We owe him an open mind and the chance to lead," Onyango wrote in part.

He added that;

"What you did make a difference and building on itself will go on to make a difference another day. I promise you this day will come. Tonight we rejoice in our democracy, we rejoice in the freedom of our wonderful people of Siaya and we accept their verdict."
