Kanu chairman Gideon Moi has appeared in public for the first time since he was swept out of office by the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) wave in his Baringo backyard.

In photos doing rounds on social media yesterday, Gideon who was trounced by UDA’s William Cheptumo is seen with a sling on his right hand.

Gideon, in his social media pages, acknowledged leaders who visited him to check on his progress.

Financial constraints

“It’s interesting to meet a section of Kanu MPs this morning who came over to check on my recovery progress. We will continue to work together for the benefit of our people,” he wrote.

In the photos, Gideon is flanked by his wife Zahra, Kanu Secretary General Nick Salat and Samburu West MP-Elect Naisula Lesuuda.

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka says Gideon sustained injuries after he fell during a campaign rally in Suswa, Narok county last month.

Contacted for comment, Salat confirmed to People Daily that the Kanu chairman sustained injuries during a campaign rally in Narok in the run-up to the elections.  “He sustained a slight injury during the campaigns but he did not address it well. He had to seek medical attention after the situation worsened,” Salat  said.
