Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua is expected to launch his 2022 presidential manifesto today, on Sunday, December 5 at Panafric hotel in Nairobi.

During his declaration to run for the country's top seat in September 2020, Mutua promised the electorate jobs, a revamped economy and unity if elected.

According to Mutua, Kenya's future hangs in the balance unless there's a change in its top leadership.

The governor who is serving his final term said that he made the decision to run for president after reciving pleas from numerous Kenyans to do so.

In his statement, Mutua reasoned that the dream Kenya's forefathers had for the country has been lost stating that Kenya is asleep and needs an urgent awakening.

At the same time, Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga is also expected to launch his Azimio La Umoja national meetings on Friday, December 9 at Kasarani Sports Centre.

Raila is expected to announce his fifth run for the presidency.
