Incumbents retain positions in Nyamira County

Nyamira governor Amos Nyaribo, senator Okong’o Omogeni and woman representative Jerusa Momanyi all retained their seats following the just concluded Tuesday’s election.

Nyaribo got 81,090 votes to emerge the victor followed by Walter Nyambati of UDA who polled 49,339 votes while the third position went to Timothy Bosire of ODM who got 35,671 votes. The seat had attracted 12 candidates.

Omogeni of ODM got 96,432 votes to emerge the winner after beating closest challenger Nyambega Mose of UDA who got 43,866 while the third position went to Adam Mochenwa of DP who got 28,235 votes.

Jerusa won the seat on a Jubilee ticket after polling 84,833 votes followed by Emily Nyagarama of ODM who got 72,434 votes while the third position went Josphine Omanwa of UDA who got 18,059.

Joash Nyamoko of North Mugirango constituency also polled 15,160 votes to retain his seat after beating his main challenger Nyangau Atebe of UPA who got 9,152 while third position went to John Mosongo of ODM who recorded 5,981 votes. In West Mugirango constituency Steve Mogaka (pictured) of Jubilee got 16,877 votes to win the seat followed by Rogers Moturi of ODM.
