‘Hunt for votes without mentioning my name’-Kalonzo lashes out at Ruto
Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has lashed out at William Ruto stating that he's not interested in a purported job offer that the Deputy President is promising him.
Speaking during an Azimio la Umoja - One Kenya rally in Narok on Saturday, July 31, Kalonzo brushed off the DP's remarks that alleged that he (Kalonzo) was being lied to by Raila Odinga.
He further asked the second-in-command to leave him (Kalonzo) alone adding that he should woo voters without mentioning his name.
"On Friday he angrily talked a lot about his boss president Uhuru Kenyatta telling him to leave him alone. Now I want to tell Ruto, please leave Kalonzo alone," he stated.
He added: "It is not just about Kalonzo benefitting, all I want is for Kenyans to benefit as a whole, from the next goverment. H has been saying that I was lied to, I was sidelined. Pilipili usiyoila yakuwashia ni?"
Ruto tells Kalonzo he will give him a job offer
Kalonzo's remarks came days after Ruto, while speaking to supporters in Kalonzo's home turf, Kitui, stated that if he wins the August polls he will give him(Kalonzo) a job since he has suffered enough.
He also told supporters that the former vice president was being lied to by Raila Odinga
"I know Kalonzo does not like me but it is not for any other reason, he has been incited by that man (Raila), why can’t you allow me to save this man?” Ruto asked.
"This government we are going to form we will give him a job. He has suffered long enough," he said during campaigns in Makindu on July 20.
