President-elect William Ruto is today expected to file his responses to the nine presidential election petitions challenging his win.

According to one of the lawyers who will represent him in the matter and another source within the DP’s circle, the responses will be brought physically to the Supreme Court sub-registry at Milimani Law Courts.

“The responses will be filed tomorrow (today) by 11 am,” said the source who requested not to be identified.

Ruto who vied for the presidency on a UDA ticket has been named in all the nine petitions challenging the outcome of the election.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), together with its chairman, Wafula Chebukati, are expected to file their responses tomorrow after depositing the electoral materials requested by petitioners on Wednesday.

In all, nine petitions have been filed to challenge the outcome of the election.

Azimio-One Kenya Coalition, through its flagbearer, Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua, filed its petition seeking 23 declarations against the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commissions (IEBC), its chairman and Ruto.

In their 72-page petition, Raila and Karua accuse Chebukati of purporting to tally and verify the results by himself, leading to the final result declared.
