Martha Karua to single mothers: I’m one of you
Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya presidential running mate Martha Karua has asserted that single mothers will be taken care of in Raila Odinga's government.
Speaking during a political rally at Huruma Grounds in Eldoret, Karua said single mothers will be empowered economically through Raila's social responsibility program.
"Single mothers will be prioritised in Baba's government. Single mothers, are you there? Children of single mothers, are you there?" Karua asked the attendees of her rally in Eldoret.
"I am one of you, single mothers and I understand your challenges."
Karua outlines Raila's plans
Karua further said Raila's government will also prioritise job creation for millions of youths.
Through Raila's "Baba Care" healthcare plan, Karua said every needy Kenyan will be enrolled on the program free of charge.
"This will ensure every Kenyan gets proper health care without incurring any cost," she said.
Thousands of Uasin Gishu residents thronged the Karua political rally.
"We cannot believe the kind of reception we have received here. This is a great show of peace we enjoy as a country and we have come to request your votes in peace. Our track record (Raila and Karua's) speaks for itself," she told the rally.
