Kiambu governor James Nyoro's running mate June Waweru has dismissed as fallacious claims that she has ditched the ruling Jubilee Party for Kenya Kwanza.

Waweru who spoke to People Daily digital on phone said the propaganda is being advanced by their opponents who have already sensed defeat.

"Those are kicks of a dying horse," she said.

Waweru upheld that various pollsters have indicated that Nyoro would beat his opponents in the morning, a fact she said is giving their opponents sleepless nights.

"They all know Nyoro will beat them but to vent their anger, our opponents have resorted to propaganda which to us is not selling and will not change the truth on the ground," she said.

The hopeful Deputy Governor insisted that even in a dream, she cannot dare join Deputy President William Ruto's camp which she termed as full of corrupt men and women.

"I cannot be in the same assembly with thieves and corrupt men and women. I'm happy in Jubilee and even in a dream, I can never imagine joining Kenya Kwanza," she stated.

Rumours about Nyoro's running mate

Early in the morning of Saturday, August 6, 2022, social media was abuzz with claims that Waweru had ditched Nyoro after realising they would not emerge the winners.

Nyoro, the incumbent governor who has only served for two years is facing frontrunners among them Thika Town MP Patrick Wainaina Jungle, Kiambu senator Kimani Wamatangi, former governor William Kabogo, Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria and Mwende Gatabaki in the hot race.

The candidates, in a race that trickled down to how best one is supported in their regions, will battle it out on Tuesday next week when Kenyans will be going for general elections.
