Machakos governor Alfred Mutua has asked his political competitors to avoid copying his manifesto for the country ahead of the 2022 general elections.

Mutua who had earlier promised Kenyans the start of a fresh movement with jobs, economic freedom asked his political competitors to be unique in their manifesto

"My supporters and I have noticed that every time I go public with an idea, a concept and even part of my manifesto, a few days or weeks later my political competitors comes out and says the same things or attempts to replicate what I have done kindly avoid copying and pasting my manifesto," Mutua said.

Mutua further promised to assist newly-weds to kick-start marriage life if he clinches the country’s top seat.

The governor who is serving his second term says if elected president, he will lend new couples an amount ranging between Ksh500,000 to Ksh 1 million payable in 20 years at 0.5 per cent interest.

Mutua launched his 2022 presidential manifesto today, on Sunday, December 5 at Panafric hotel in Nairobi.

During his declaration to run for the country's top seat in September 2020, Mutua promised the electorate jobs, a revamped economy and unity if elected.

According to Mutua, Kenya's future hangs in the balance unless there's a change in its top leadership.

The governor who is serving his final term said that he made the decision to run for president after receiving pleas from numerous Kenyans to do so.

In his statement, Mutua reasoned that the dream Kenya's forefathers had for the country has been lost, stating that Kenya is asleep and needs an urgent awakening.

At the same time, Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga is also expected to launch his Azimio La Umoja national meetings on Friday, December 9 at Kasarani Sports Centre.

Raila is expected to announce his fifth run for the presidency.
