Raila opens 18% lead over Ruto in Trans Nzoia county – Tifa

Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance flag bearer Raila Odinga is the most popular presidential candidate in Trans Nzoia county according to an opinion poll released by Tifa.

The research firm on Thursday, July 14, 2022, released the results of a survey they conducted to assess the popularity of presidential candidates in select counties across the county.

According to the poll result released, Raila enjoys 52 per cent support in Trans Nzoia followed by Deputy President William Ruto whose popularity was rated at 34 per cent.

Raila complicates Mudavadi, Wetangula's deal

Trans Nzoia is among Western Kenya counties where Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetang'ula are tasked with delivering 70 per cent votes for Ruto in the August 9 poll.

Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kindiki said Mudavadi and Wetang'ula signed to deliver 70 per cent of the Western vote in a deal with Ruto.

Kindiki, the Kenya Kwanza lead lawyer who drafted the coalition agreement, said ANC and Ford Kenya leaders consented to deliver at least 1.5 million of the 2.2 million vote bloc to the DP’s presidential basket.

Natambeya leads in Trans Nzoia

Azimio la Umoja also leads in Trans Nzoia gubernatorial race with former Rift Valley Regional Commissioner George Natembeya enjoying a 56 per cent lead over his closest competitor Chris Wamalwa of Kenya Kwanza alliance who was rated at 21 per cent.

Natembeya is vying on the DAP-K Party ticket which is under the Azimio umbrella while Wamalwa is seeking the gubernatorial seat on the Ford Kenya ticket which is allied to Kenya Kwanza outfit.
