Raila leads Ruto in Kisii – TIFA poll

Azimio la Umoja - One Kenya coalition presidential candidate Raila Odinga is the most preferred candidate in Kisii county, a new TIFA Research survey released on Thursday, July 14, has shown.

Raila would win Kisii county votes at 61 per cent compared to Kenya Kwanza presidential candidate William Ruto's 20 per cent.

"Raila Odinga is the preferred presidential candidate among the Kisii voters followed at a distance by William Ruto," the pollster said.

Roots Party of Kenya's George Wajackoyah enjoys a one per cent popularity in the county.

In the governor race, the current Dagoreti North Simba Arati who is vying for Kisii governor seat is leading by a wide margin at 66 per cent.

Arati is vying for the seat on an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party ticket.

He is followed at a distant second by Ezekiel Machogu of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) at 11 per cent.

Others in the governor race include Chris Obure (3%), Samson Oyongo (2%) and Sam Ongeri (2%).

In the senatorial race, Richard Onyonka is leading at 27 per cent, followed by Omingo Magara (9%), Joash Maangi (5%), Dominic Onderi, Samuel Okemwa, Richard Atemba, and Evans Emori who have a one per cent each.

Donya Toto Doris is leading in the Woman Representative race at 32 per cent followed by Janet Ongera (15%), Theresa Bitutu (3%) and Rachel Otundo (2%).

ODM and Azimio la Umoja are the most preferred party and coalition at 47 per cent and 57 per cent respectively.
