Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Presidential candidate Raila Odinga is intensifying his campaigns in Nakuru county where polls have shown there is a big percentage of undecided voters.

Raila will be flanked by his running mate Martha Karua and other leaders allied to the Azimio coalition as he campaigns in Nakuru on Thursday, July 28, 2022.

The former prime minister is expected to hold a series of rallies in the Rift Valley county before his tour culminates with a major rally at Afraha stadium.

Raila focused on politics of numbers in Nakuru

Nakuru is a cosmopolitan county with 1.05 million voters according to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) final voters' register.

Raila has campaigned in Nakuru multiple times and today Thursday, July 28 he returns there as the presidential campaigns enter the homestretch.

The Azimio presidential candidate is seeking a slice of Nakuru's 1.05 million voters more so after recent opinion polls suggested that the Rift Valley county could be swayed by any of the two leading presidential contenders.

Research conducted by Infotrak which was released on July 13, 2022, showed that Deputy President William Ruto was ahead in Nakuru with 48 per cent as Raila followed with 30 per cent, while 17 per cent were yet to make up their mind - making the county a potential toss-up.

“The number of the undecided indicates the challenge the leading candidates have to convince them to vote in their favour before the elections. The one who will convince the majority of them has a greater chance of getting the 50 per cent plus one,” Infotrak Chief Executive Angela Ambitho said as she released the results.
