State House race: Ruto in charm offensive of Mt Kenya counties

Kenya Kwanza presidential flag bearer William Ruto is on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, set to continue with his tour of the vote-rich Mt Kenya region as the campaigns enter the home stretch.

In a programme seen by People Daily Digital, the DP is scheduled to address five rallies in Kirinyaga and Kiambu counties.

The Kenya Kwanza team will kick off their day with a rally at Kerugoya in Kirinyaga Central Constituency before heading to Kagio in Ndia Constituency at noon.

In the afternoon, Ruto will storm Thika Town in Thika Town Constituiency, Kimende in Lari Constituency and finish his campaigns in Zambezi, Kikuyu Constituency.

Kenya Kwanza woos Nyeri and Murang'a residents

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party candidate has in recent days intensified his campaigns in the Central region as the polls slated for August 9 draw closer.

Yesterday, Ruto, in the company of his running mate Rigathi Gachagua held a series of rallies in Nyeri and Murang'a counties.

The Kenya Kwanza duo campaigned in Narumoru, Kìeni Constituency, Nyeri Town Constituency, Karatina in Mathìra Constituency, Murang'a Town, Kìharù Constituency and Kìhoya in Kangema Constituency.

On Wednesday, the DP's Azimio One Kenya coalition rival Raila Odinga will take his campaigns to Kakamega County.

The Azimio leader is scheduled to hold a mega rally at the Bukhungu stadium, in what we understand is his last rally in the county.
