69% of Ruto’s supporters comfortable with Rigathi, 90% of Raila’s love Karua – TIFA polls

A survey by TIFA has shown how supporters of running mates for top presidential contenders would have voted if elections were held today.

While Azimio la Umoja's Raila Odinga and Martha Karua are the most popular in the country, 90 per cent of those supporting Raila support Martha while 85 per cent of those supporting Martha are supporting Raila.

On Kenya Kwanza's side, 69 per cent of Deputy President William Ruto's supporters are comfortable with his running mate Rigathi Gachagua while 59 per cent of Gachagua's supporters fully support Ruto.

One Kenya Alliance's (OKA) Kalonzo Musyoka's 'chemistry' level with his running mate Andrew Sunkuli is a bit low, with 38 per cent of Musyoka's supporters being fully in sync with Sunkuli. On the other hand, 21 per cent of Sunkuli's supporters are ready for Musyoka Presidency.

In general, Raila Odinga-Martha Karua polled 39 per cent against William Ruto-Rigathi Gachagua’s 35 per cent.

The survey was done between May 15 and May 16 as the two candidates were picking their running mates.

The research showed Ruto's popularity dropped from 39 per cent compared in its previous poll to 35 per cent in the latest survey while Raila's rose from 32 per cent to 39 per cent.
