A survey by TIFA released on Monday, July 11, 28 days left to the much anticipated August 9 polls, shows that more United Democratic Alliance (UDA) presidential candidate William Ruto's supporters have faith in the electoral body as compared to Azimio-One Kenya flagbearer Raila Odinga's supporters.

At the same time though, an identical proportion of 16 per cent and 15 per cent, respectively said they lack faith in the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) ahead of the polls.

"A modest majority of Kenyans express a high level of confidence that the IEBC will deliver a “fair and honest” election on August 9. However, slightly more Ruto supporters hold this view than do Odinga’s (65% vs. 59%," part of the survey findings show.

Further, both candidates' supporters have confidence in the Supreme Court to deliver a fair judgement without external forces.

"Overall, six-in-ten Kenyans express confidence that any presidential election petition that goes to the Supreme Court after the August 9 election will be adjudicated fairly, without any outside interference," part of the statement by TIFA reads.
