The High Court in Nairobi will today, Monday, July 4 hear a case filed by a petitioner who wanted Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) not to print Senator Johnson Sakaja’s name on the ballot papers.

Dennis Wahome asked the court on June 29 to bar the electoral agency from printing ballot papers for Nairobi governor race until the case is heard and determined.

He has sued IEBC, Dispute Resolution Committee, Nairobi County Returning Officer and Sakaja over the fake degree saga.

Through lawyer Njoki Mboce, he challenges the decision of the Dispute Resolution Committee to clear Sakaja to vie for Nairobi governor seat.

“If this petition is not certified urgent and determined forthwith, there is a danger that IEBC shall proceed to include Sakaja’s name on the ballot papers for the county governor election prior to the determination of the issues raised herein,” Wahome claimed.
