UDA candidate George Theuri concedes defeat to Jubilee’s Mark Mwenje

Former Embakasi West Member of Parliament George Theuri has conceded defeat to Jubilee's candidate Mark Muriithi Mwenje. His concession speech came after provisional results by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commissions projected an imminent Mwenje win.

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate took to his social media platforms to appreciate Embakasi West residents for giving him an opportunity to represent them in parliament.

"I want to take this early opportunity to sincerely thank the entire Embakasi west Constituency for giving me an opportunity to serve you for the past 10yrs," he said.

The second-term lawmaker further congratulated his main competitor Mark Mwenje and wished him luck as he takes over as the constituency's representative in the August House.

"As we begin a new chapter allow me to wish my worthy competitor and the new incoming Embakasi west Mp Hon Mark Mureithi Mwenje Best of luck as you embark to start a new era as Mp elect," he added.

The lawmaker, famed for his stunning fashion style, appealed to his supporters to give Mwenje all the support he will need as he takes over as their new MP.

"To all my supporters plz let's support Hon Mark Mureithi as he takes over the office and accord him the necessary respect the office deserves. Politics is not enmity but competition on better ideas and service to our people," Theuri stated.

On his side, Mark Mwenje thanked the UDA politician for conceding defeat honourably. He pledged to deliver on his campaign promises after his official ascendancy to power.

"I wish to publicly thank Hon. George Theuri for taking the time to call me this morning to wish me well and also for his public statement below to congratulate me as I take on the esteemed leadership of Embakasi West Constituency," he said.
