United Democratic Alliance (UDA) nominations have not started hours after their scheduled kick-off time.

In Juja, Thika and Ruiru Sub counties, many who woke up early to go and cast their votes are still roaming around polling stations waiting for the exercise to start.

UDA officials had yesterday indicated that the exercise will start at 6:00 am and end at 5:00 pm.

Heavy rainfall that poured through the entire Wednesday night is said to have delayed the process that is set to pick governor, senator, woman representative, MP and MCAs aspirants who will vie on the Deputy President William Ruto's party.

A presiding officer in Juja who declined to be mentioned said the ballots were ready but the election officials including agents didn't arrive at the centres in time.

"We are a bit late but we have now sealed the boxes ready for the exercise in a few moments," the PO said.

However, those who turned up for the exercise said they were ready to brave any form of weather to exercise their democratic right.
