Former Transport Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Wavinya Ndeti's woes continue to deepen after two voters in Machakos moved to court to challenge the validity of her academic certificates.

In the complaint presented before High Court Judge George Odunga, the two identified as Gideon Ngewa Kenya and Kisilu Mutisya argued that the degree certificates presented to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) for clearance were fake.

The duo now wants the court to order the Commission for University Education (CUE) to revoke recognition of Wavinya's Bachelor's and Master's degrees.

Justice Odunga directed that the two are authorised to seek an order compelling the Director of Public pProsecutions (DPP) to launch investigations into the validity of Wavinya's academic certificates.

The case will be mentioned on July 11 for judgement.

First complaint against Wavinya

The complaint comes weeks after the two lodged a complaint to the IEBC challenging the clearance of Wavinya to contest for the Machakos governor's seat.

At the time, the two had argued that the Wiper party candidate had questionable academic certificates since, according to them, there was no record to prove that she studied in the UK.

"Ms Ndeti is not a holder of a degree recognized in Kenya. On November 6, 1992, she was purportedly awarded a Master's degree in Business systems analysis and design by the City University, London without having undertaken the first degree," they claimed.

Their complaint was dismissed by the electoral commission.
