Kenya Kwanza Alliance presidential running mate Rigathi Gachagua blasted Raila Odinga's 2022 running mate Martha Karua saying she has no moral authority to lecture Deputy President William Ruto on how to respect President Uhuru Kenyatta.

On Saturday, the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition presidential running mate called on DP Ruto to show respect to the Head of State.

Speaking in Meru on Sunday, July 3, during a church service at St. Thomas Apostle, Gachagua reminded Karua that she has never supported President Uhuru in her political career.

"My sister, you have no capacity or moral authority to lecture William Ruto about respecting Uhuru Kenyatta. You wouldn't know how to respect Uhuru Kenyatta because you have never respected or supported him," Rigathi Gachagua said.

According to Gachagua, William Ruto and his allies know what it means to respect President Uhuru because they have stood with him since 2013.

The outgoing Mathira MP challenged the Narc-Kenya leader to attend classes on how to respect the Commander-in-Chief because they understand Uhuru more than her.

"You would need a seminar ukuje mimi nikukalishe chini nikufundishe njia ya kuunga mkono na kupatia yeye heshima kwa sababu tunaelewa." he added.

Gachagua stated that, unlike DP Ruto, Karua has a history of disrespecting the appointing authority, giving the example of how the Narc-Kenya leader bolted out of the late President Mwai Kibaki's administration.

"Although Kibaki honored Karua and appointed her to the Cabinet… when he got in trouble with Raila Odinga…kumsumbua. Martha Karua walked out on Kibaki. Si mnakumbuka? She showed Kibaki the middle finger. Na akatoka kwa serikali," Gachagua said.

During the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya rally in Nyandarua County on Saturday, July 2, Karua blasted DP Ruto over his plans to probe President Uhuru if he secured victory in the August polls.

"Any leader who threatens an individual, be it the president or any other person, is not worth being elected as a leader," Karua said.

Speaking in Uasin Gishu on June 12, Karua had also hit out at Ruto for behaving as a co-president in President Uhuru's government.

"Everybody must understand their responsibilities. If you are called deputy president, be like one. There cannot be two chairmen in one meeting. There can never be two presidents at a time in a country. There can never be two governors in a county. If you are a deputy, please be a deputy and not co-president," Karua said.
