Jambojet set to resume domestic flights on July 15
AVIATION: Regional low-cost carrier, Jambojet, will resume flights to five local destinations on July 15, after the government lifted a ban on movement in and out of Nairobi, Mombasa, and Mandera counties.
The move comes after Transport ministry developed protocols with best practices on conducting commercial air transport, that will see aviation players ensure highest levels of safety for customers and staff.
It will operate three daily flights to Mombasa, two to Kisumu, two to Eldoret, one to Malindi and four weekly flights to Diani.
The frequencies will be reviewed regularly to respond to the changes in demand across the markets.
Jambojet acting Managing Director Karanja Ndegwa said since it halted operations back in April, the carrier has been working with the government and other authorities to ensure it creates a safe environment for customers once its getsback to the skies.
Safety guidelines
“We want to assure our customers that we will follow the safety guidelines put in place to offer our customers a safe and pleasant flying experience,” he added. Ndegwa said the measures Jambojet has taken are in line with protocols for air travel developed by Ministry of Transport, Kenya Airports Authority and other aviation players.
They include sanitisation of aircraft with industry approved disinfectants before and after each flight.
Aircrafts have also been fitted with a High Efficiency Particulate Air filtration system that refreshes the air every three minutes.
