Metropol Corporation Ltd has launched a loan product to allow Kenyans negotiate loans and re-structure terms amid coronavirus (Covid-19).

Metropol Corporation Group Managing Director Sam Omukoko  said the Covid-19 Loan Restructure Product will allow customers to engage their respective financial institutions in order to get the best terms on existing loans (restructure).

“At the Metropol Credit Reference Bureau (CRB), we understand there is a need to offer convenience to customers especially at this time when the government has effected restrictions on movement to prevent the spread of Covid-19,” he said.

Omukoko said the product would allow borrowers in distress to reach out to their creditors for loan restructuring through their mobile phones.

Digital platform

He said the product would complement what Metropol CRB’s digital platform (Crystobol App) provides to borrowers seeking to access credit at affordable rates.

Omukoko said to access the Covid-19 loan restructure product, all a customer needs to do is to download the Metropol Crystobol App (version 1.0.25) and register.

The launch of the product comes against the backdrop of various initiatives by the government and private sector to cushion Kenyans from  effects of the virus.

Once registered, one needs to click on the Covid-19 Loan Restructure icon which will display all the outstanding loans.
