Have you been eyeing for the government houses under affordable housing program? Well if so it is now your time to visit the Park Road site for viewing.

According to a message sent to those who registered with the Boma Yangu portal, the units are now available for viewing on Fridays only between 9 am to 11 am and 2:30 pm to 4 :30pm.

“We have scheduled this time for both public safety and minimal interference to the ongoing construction,” reads the message.

However, if you wish to view the houses you must reserve your space by visiting Ardhi House, room 605, 6th-floor wing B before each Friday.

So far the inaugural phase with 228 units is ready for occupation and once the viewing starts allocation will start thereafter for members who only qualify to own the houses.

As of January this year about 300 Kenyans had met the 12.5 percent threshold which is the bare minimum for one to qualify for a housing unit at the Park Road housing development in Nairobi. However, these numbers keep increasing.

The second and third phases of the project will be completed in June and December 2020 respectively and it will comprise of one, two and three-bedroom houses which will be going for one, two and three million respectively.

To purchase a house under this program one needs to register on the Boma Yangu online portal, then start saving. The minimum savings should be 12.5 percent of the value of the house that you want for one to be considered.

“Once the allocation process starts it will entail sale of all the 1370 housing units which are in various stages of development at the park road project not only the inaugural phase,” says The Principal Secretary State Department for Housing and Urban Development Charles Hinga.
