Telkom, Britam launch insurance solution

Telkom Kenya and Britam Holding have launched a custom made mobile-based insurance solution that bundles voice minutes, SMS and data insurance products targeting low-incoming earning Kenyans.

Known as “Life Bila Noma,” the product intends to increase insurance penetration in the country by competitively providing personal accidents and last expense covers to small scale traders and Boda Boda riders.

Eric Achola, the telco’s Director of Marketing said subscribers to the product will have two options to access the offer, either through Life 200 or Life 300.

Through Life 200, Achola said subscribers will be eligible to a monthly insurance personal accident cover of up to Sh20,000 and a monthly last-expense cover of Sh20,000 as well as 1GB mobile data, 25 any-net minutes, 100 on-net minutes and 25 SMS to any network at Sh200, whereas those who opt for the Life 300.

For only Sh300, those who opt for the Life 300 will have a monthly insurance personal accident cover of up to Sh20,000 and a monthly last-expense cover of Sh20,000 as well as 1GB mobile data, 50 any-net minutes, 100 on-net minutes, 50 SMS to any network.
