Soko maize flour cleared of aflatoxin

Kiambu County’s Public Health officials have cleared Soko Maize flour after official test results revealed that the product complied with allowable aflatoxin parameters.

The clearance now means Soko Maize Meal can now trade freely in any outlets.

"The analysis results received on 22nd November 2019, indicate that the sampled batch numbers for Soko maize flour as well as the dry maize have all complied with KS EAS 768:2019 on aflatoxin,” said Dr. David Kamundia Ndung’u, Chief Officer -Health Services at Kiambu County in a letter to Capwell Industries Limited.

While welcoming the analysis results, Capwell Industries Limited, Business Head, Mahesh Chavda said: “We are happy that Kiambu County Public Health officials have cleared Soko maize meal from aflatoxin contamination fears and ascertained that it is fit for human consumption.
