A suspect, David Ogola Origa, was arraigned at the Milimani Law courts and charged with the offence of forgery of a KRA VIP sticker.

KRA County Revenue Officers while on duty in Nairobi encountered a motor vehicle whose parking fee had not been paid for affixed with a VIP parking sticker on the windscreen.

Upon verification of the sticker it was established that it was fake and on inquiry, the owner of the motor vehicle identified Origa as the seller of the sticker to him, consequently leading to his arrest even as he pleaded not guilty to the offence.

“Citizens are notified that the annual VIP stickers for authorised vehicles are managed through the Nairobi Revenue System parking system and a list of all vehicles that qualify for the sticker has been uploaded in the system,” said a statement from KRA.

In Bungoma Law Courts, a Samwel Mwangi was presented in court with charges of conveying 30 drums of uncustomed ethanol concealed with 102 bags of oranges and 13 bags of rice husks.

He pleaded not guilty and granted a bond of Shs. 800,000 and in the alternative a surety of a similar amount.

Further more the taxman brought before Naivasha Law courts a director and an operations manager of Mashwa Brewaries Limited to answer to charges of being in possession of excisable goods not affixed with excise stamps, being in possession of excisable goods affixed with counterfeit excise stamps, being in possession of counterfeit excise stamps and being in possession of restricted goods. They denied the charges and the case will be mentioned next month.
