Detectives on politician’s radar over ‘wash wash’

Detectives are investigating the relationship between a flamboyant man suspected to be the mastermind of money laundering cartel also involving a prominent Opposition senator and governor.
Detectives seek to establish if the two leaders are beneficiaries of the cartel’s activities.
The cartel leader, also said to be in the "wash wash” scam is a relative of the senator, who intervenes whenever the suspect is arrested.
