Their means of earning an income is always frowned upon by society.

In deed, it is an offence in Kenya to earn a living through sexual activity, but that did not stop a group of energised commercial sex workers in Nakuru from donating beddings last month to a police station in the county!

In a rare gesture that caught both police and members of the public, a group of bold and jovial sex workers cleaned two police stations and donated beddings for cells as the world marked the International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers.

More than 200 sex workers under an umbrella body ‘Smart Ladies, ‘ cleaned the office of the local Officer Commanding Police Division (OCPD) and put up new curtains.

The elated ladies also planted trees at the station as they sang to celebrate the day.

Talk of the ladies of the night and police officers symbiotic, nay, cordial working relationshiP.
