Nikita Kering, Sauti Sol and Khaligraph Jones win big at Afrima 2019

The sixth annual All African Music Awards (Afrima) took place over the weekend at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos, Nigeria.

The event recognises African musical talent from various regions of the continent.

It was a memorable night for Kenyan musicians as Khaligraph Jones won the Best Male Artiste in East Africa, rock band Rash Band scooped the Best African Rock with their track Grave Robbers andboy band Sauti Sol won Album of the Year with Afrikan Sauce 

Seventeen-year-old singer Nikita Kireng collected two awards; Best Female Artiste in Eastern Africa and Revelation of the African Continent. 

Kering posted on social media: “WE DID IT!! Youngest ever Afrima nominee and now winner of; Best female in Eastern Africa and Revelation of the African continent! Thank you so much to all that took their time to vote!”
