Teacher dismissed for becoming pregnant
Apparently, there are some religious schools that have morality and lifestyle clauses in their contracts.
For one teacher, it became a reality after she became pregnant by her fiance.
Teri James was employed at San Diego Christian College in US, and she did sign a lifestyle contract, which, in part, said that she must refrain from premarital sex, as that was the school’s standing as it related to living a supposedly holy lifestyle.
It was all going well and good for Ms James, right up to the point she became pregnant.
As a result, since she wasn’t married then, the school terminated her employment for allegedly having premarital sex which deemed her a “bad example to the students”.
