Tell us about your planned tour of East Africa.

I am open to all opportunities. Kenya is blessed and I can’t wait to meet with my fans and have the best time of my life. I will be communicating soon about the actual dates and other itinerary. I’ll be coming to Kenya carrying a lot of memorable moments that I experienced in the just-ended festive period during my performances around the continent.

How did your latest hit single She Knows ft Olamide and Fireboy DML come to fruition?

Olamide and I have been friends since my first single all the way to the time we collaborated on Reggae Blues. He too knows the rapport we share, so we thought to bless the world with another masterpiece, and then we saw it important to bring on board Fireboy DML because he is extremely talented.

Did you at that time imagine the song would be such a massive hit across the continent the way it is now?

When we got it, we all concluded it was a good song; a masterpiece. But we didn’t know it was going to be this big. Now we are all more than exited and grateful. Thank you Africa!

What criteria do you use when choosing who to collaborate with?

I look for outstanding talent and there must be strong connections between us. I also look at the numbers that the other artiste is bringing on the whole thing. Managerial processes must also be inline with what we’ll be seeking to achieve with our collaborative work.

Do you think artistes from elsewhere in Africa are envious of their Nigerian counterparts because of your global music acceptance and success?

I don’t think other artistes in Africa are envious of us because of the way we hit the international market. I feel they get a little bit intimidated, which is normal, but they should understand that we are all one people, brought together by love. So, love is what we all share for one another.

You welcomed twin babies last year, how has that changed or affected your life?

Ooh about this! It was supposed to be something beautiful, but it turned out to be a heartbreaking moment, when we discovered that the woman in question was lying to fleece me off my money and get an easier way of getting married to me. So, I have no twins. It was all but a lie.

What are some misconceptions people have about you?

Mr Songz is not a change of name but a tittle. So my stage name is Harrysong aka Mr Songz.

A section of Kenyans want you to share with them your skin care and facial hair routine.

They should be patience. When I come to Kenya, I will for sure tell them my secret. Ha-ha-ha.

What are some of your major plans for this year?

Expect another single dropping soon with a video, an African tour, Kingmaker concert and the release of Gods Amongst Men
