A section of the Azimio la Umoja movement coalition leaders took their campaign to Migori County yesterday where they cautioned Deputy President William Ruto to stop disrespecting the President.

Led by Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho, ODM chairman John Mbadi, Narok Senator Ledama ole Kina and Minority chief whip Junet Mohammed they claimed Ruto has been campaigning in the last four years of the Jubilee second term and therefore cannot claim to have proactively participated in the successful government projects.

“You can’t claim that you participated in the successful government projects while you were busy campaigning to succeed the President in the last four years,” John said.

He spoke amid recent protests by the Ruto camp that a section of State officials and politicians allied to the President and ODM leader Raila Odinga was out to dissociate him from the successful government flagship projects.

On Sunday, while in Baringo to drum up support for his presidential bid, Ruto alleged some people wanted to dissociate him with the Jubilee coalition administration successes. But in a swift rejoinder, the Azimio Coalition leadership laughed off his remarks saying that the DP was merely a crying wolf.

“He is to blame for his political tribulations and not anyone,” said Ole Kina.

Joho, Junet, and Ole Kina said the DP and his cronies had taken the President head on ignoring he deserved respect, humility and candour as the Head of State. The leaders were speaking during a series of rallies starting from Sori Beach in Nyatike constituency and snaked its way to Masara, Migori town, Uriri and Rongo Trading centre to drum up support for Odinga as the fifth President.

Former Cabinet Minister Dalmas Otieno and former Migori MP John Pesa among others who in the interest of time only waved to Azimio chanting crowds in ululation. The rally sent a powerful message of the subsequent rallies which will be held in the presence of Odinga.
