Bukhungu declaration: List of MPs who defected to Azimio la Umoja movement

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga has welcomed a number of defectors from Musalia Mudavadi's Amani National Congress (ANC) and Moses Wetangula's FORD Kenya to his party.

During the Azimio la Umoja event held at Bukhungu Stadium on Friday, December 31, Raila termed the event as a movement of the people.

"This is a movement of the people. It’s an exodus. We also welcomed scores of defectors at Bukhungu Stadium this afternoon. Karibuni Nyumbani. We keep loading!" Raila said.

Raila welcomed nominated MP and ANC's Secretary General Godfrey Osotsi into the fold alongside who said he made the decsion to decamp from Mudavadi's side even after he helped form the party.

"Mimi ndio nilianzisha hicho chama ya ANC, lakini kwasababu iko na ujinga mwingi mimi nikaamua kufanya kazi na baba na nimekuwa nikicheza mpira na baba kando, lakini kuanzia leo mimi nataka kucheza kwa team ya baba," Osotsi said.

Teso North MP Oku Kaunya also of ANC moved to ODM together with Navokholo MP Emmanuel Wangwe of Jubilee who is the current Chief Whip.

MCAs who moved to ODM were Charles Odanga formerly of Musalia Mudavadi's ANC from Mumias West, Protus Wanga of ANC from Itenje ward, Mumias West, John Musilwa Isukha Central Ward, Godliver Omondi of Kholera ward, and Elly Keya of ANC Lushea Ward in Lubinu.

Others are Brian Mafunga of FORD Kenya, Likuyani Ward, John Nogome of UDP Luandeti Ward in Lugari, Shikuku Harrison of the United Development Party from Koyonzo Ward, Wabuge Anthony of FORD Kenya, from Shinoko Likuyani, Geofrey Ondiro of ANC from Marenga ward and Imbosa Christine of UDP who is a nominated MCA.
