Lawyer Donald Kipkorir has called out United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party for campaigning just a day after they lost Deputy President William Ruto's Chief of Staff Ken Osinde.

Kipkorir was surprised that the party could not cancel their scheduled campaign rallies to mourn Osinde.

"Just surprised that UDA can’t cancel their abusive campaigns even for a day to mourn their Chief of Staff. What a soulless party," Kipkorir said.

According to Kipkorir, it is the norm in every society for one to take a break when a close family member or friend dies.

"In every society, when a close family member or close friend or advisor dies, one takes a break from normal routine," Kipkorir said.

The lawyer was castigating Ruto's rallies in Turkana where he completed his two-day visit today by attending the Turkana Tourism and Cultural Festival event.

DP Ruto's chief of staff is said to have fallen ill in the past few months with an undisclosed illness and passed on yesterday while receiving treatment at Nairobi Hospital.

He started working at Harambee Annex in 2016 as the Chief of Staff, where he acted as a mediator of issues before they reached DP Ruto.

Osinde had also served as a lecturer at the University of Nairobi, where he pioneered research and published on Sheng’ and youth languages.

He also worked as a manager at the National Bank of Kenya, where he rose to the position of Head of Strategic Planning, before he ventured into the insurance industry as CEO and Director of the College of Insurance.

The deceased also served as an Ambassador of Kenya to Germany in 2010 and took part in the inauguration of the first direct flight from Mombasa to Berlin, Germany.
