Environment Cabinet Secretary Keriako Tobiko has said he did not send his sister who is also the Kajiado East Member of Parliament Peris Tobiko to apologize on his behalf to Deputy President William Ruto over his (Tobiko) past remarks.

This comes after Peris claimed to have visited DP Ruto to apologize on Keriako's behalf over past remarks in which he referred to the DP as a mere “clerk.”

"I visited William Ruto in Karen and told him, I'm Peris Tobiko and I have come to ask for forgiveness on behalf of my brother who called him a clerk,” Peris said.

CS Tobiko has however refuted the claims and asserted that he will stand by his words adding that he has nothing to apologize to DP Ruto.

“I have nothing to apologize about. I did not send anyone to Eldoret to apologize on my behalf. Neither has my family sent anyone," Tobiko said.

The Environment CS further claimed that Ruto has now resorted to cheap politics of causing chaos among family members.

"DP Ruto is unfortunately using family members to attack each other. That is his way of doing things," Tobiko said.

The CS also claimed that DP Ruto is not fit to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.
