Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi and Deputy President William Ruto have jetted out of the country for a 10-day tour of the United States and United Kingdom.

Mudavadi, in a press statement sent to newsrooms, revealed that he was responding to invitations by top State officials, key multi-sectoral policymakers and respectable democratic institutions both in Washington DC and London.

“The former Vice-President and one-time Deputy Prime Minister will address Kenyans in the diaspora and elucidate his economic blueprint, “Uchumi Bora, Pesa Mfukoni”, and explain how it will resuscitate Kenya’s slumping economic fortunes after the forthcoming polls,” the press statement read in parts.

The leaders are expected to hold discussions with high ranking officials.

According to reports, the discussion will take place under the Carnegie Africa programme and is expected to revolve around politics as well as governance across Africa.

“Deputy President William Ruto, who is a co-principal in the Kenya Kwanza Alliance, is also in the trip,” the press statement sent by Mudavadi’s Presidential Campaign Secretariat further confirmed.

Other engagements, the political outfit is expected to hold include a meeting with Kenyans in diaspora in Washington.

In August last year, Ruto was blocked from leaving the country and flying to Uganda via the Wilson Airport after he was stopped by the security team at Wilson Airport which demanded his clearance documents supposed to be issued by Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua.
