Ekuru Aukot ousted from party leadership

Thirdway Alliance party has ousted the Party Leader Dr. Ekuru Aukot over complaints by party members.

The political party further directed Mr. Aukot to appear before its disciplinary committee to answer various charges.

In a statement signed by the party Secretary-General Fredrick Okango and the National Chairperson Miruru Waweru, the party said they suspended the leader over assault, misappropriation of funds, and defiance of court orders.

"That Dr.Ekuru Aukot has been suspended as the party leader indefinitely and shall not represent or transact any business on behalf of the party," read the statement in parts.

The party accused Aukot of assaulting Dr.Angela Mwikali, the Deputy Party Leader using crude words which were later published by bloggers.

The party's National Executive Committee which was in-charge of the ousting also accused Aukot of Financial impropriety, self-enrichment, non-accountability and lack of transparency.

Thirdly, Aukot is said to have defied a court order in a mentioned children case which is unconstitutional.

The party officials directed Aukot to appear before the disciplinary committee on September 4.
