Turkana County Governor Josphat Nanok has bitterly reacted to his Kitui Charity Ngilu's remarks that she directed to Deputy President William Ruto when he toured Turkana yesterday where Nanok was the host.

Ruto had attended a cultural event in Turkana but in n a social media post, Ngilu ridiculed him for donning cultural regalia wondering how he 'would still refer to people as waganga'.

"And he will still refer to others as Waganga. Earth is hard," Ngilu captioned.

Nanok did not take it lightly as he came to the defence of the Second-in-Command.

He challenged Ngilu not to criticise people's cultures, especially that of Turkana people because it was their pathway to cohesion, peace and development.

"Do not disparage culture, it’s a pathway to our cohesion, peace and development. I am glad Ruto respects culture and will promote, protect it," Nanok said.

Nanok further explained that Turkana culture called Tobong'u Lore is an environmental friendly homestead hut used by women and children.

He added that it is one of their key material cultures and that Ngilu should respect.

"Where is ugang’a here? Turkana environmental friendly homestead, hut used by women and children is one of our key material culture," Nanok said.
