Isiolo governor Abdi Hassan Guyo has named county appointees for the positions of County Executive Committee (CECs), County Secretary and County Attorney General.

From the look of look things, the question of a two-third gender rule is likely to arise as Guyo appointed only one woman to the senior positions in his government.

Aileen Kajuju Mungira is the only woman who has made it to the governor's appointment list, having been appointed CEC for Education, Youth, Sport, Culture and Social Services.

Kajuju has been promoted from being Chief Executive Officer at the same Ministry in former governor Mohammed Kuti's government.

Other appointments

Guyo appointed Abdullahi Jardesa Banticha for the position of CEC Finance and Economic Planning. Banticha happens to be a former Member of Parliament (MP) for Isiolo south.

Dr Lawrence Mwongela was appointed CECin charge of Tourism, Trade, Cooperatives and Enterprise Development.

Guyo appointed Ali Warko Sarite to be in charge of Water, Sanitation, Energy, Environment and Natural Resources.

Mwongela's former docket Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and the Special program has been allocated to Yusuf Mohamed Galgalo.

Galgalo had been serving as County Secretary in an acting capacity since the former was fired immediately after governor Guyo's government took of over Isiolo county leadership.

Appointed to be in charge of Land, Physical Planning, Roads, Transport, Urban Development and Peace and Conflict Resolution is Yusuf Dahir, having retained the position he held during the previous government led by Mohammed Kuti.

Names of the appointees are expected to be forwarded to the Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) for vetting.
