Former Kigumo Member of Parliament Jamleck Kamau who is eyeing the Murang'a gubernatorial aspirant has finally declared that he will be vying for the seat on the Jubilee party ticket.

Kamau said he has arrived at the decision after wide consultation with the residents of Murang'a and other leaders who support his bid.

Addressing the press at his backyard in Kigumo, Kamau said he felt he was safer in Jubilee party than any other party.

He said several parties had approached him to join their entities but he was reluctant.

"After thorough consultations with my people of Murang'a, I have decided to vie for the seat on Jubilee party ticket and I'm confident of my move," he said.

"I am not shy to say that parties including those presumed to be popular in this area were looking for me, but I felt safer being in Jubilee," he said.

"I'm exuding serious confidence that I will clinch the seat because I'm a seasoned politician who understands politics," he added.

Kamau who is the only candidate on the Jubilee party ticket reiterated that he is not ready for nominations saying the party structures are in place to cater for his ticket.

He said that in 2017, things did not work out as he lost in the bungled party primaries but this time things should be different.

The aspirant also said that he will not be seeking external support from anybody. "I'm using Jubilee party, but I will not be hanging on anybody's coats to get the seat," he said.
