Jubilee National Director of Elections Kanini Kega has come out to explain why the party withdrew the Mathare parliamentary nomination certificate issued to musician Kevin Kioko, alias Bahati.

Kega, who is the Kieni MP, said the decision was arrived at after the party held negotiations with other  Azimio La Umoja affiliate parties on sharing of Nairobi constituencies.

“We agreed that we will share the seats just as they are currently. The current Mathare MP is from ODM,” he said.

The Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya Alliance Coalition is identifying areas parties will field aspirants.

In the Azimio line up, ODM has bagged Mathare under MP Anthony Oluoch, Embakasi East (Babu Owino), Ruaraka (TJ Kajwang) and Makadara (George Aladwa).

From Jubilee, Roysambu will be contested by Ndirangu Waihenya, Kasarani (Mercy Gakuya), Kamukunji (Abdi Yussuf Hassan), Embakasi North (Harrison Wangoro), Embakasi West (Mark Mwenje), Embakasi Central (former Mayor John Ndirangu) and Starehe (Amos Mwago).
