Jubilee Party is now seeking to expel all Jubilee Party Members of Parliament who attended the United Democratic (UDA) National Delegates Conference (NDC) yesterday at Kasarani Gymnasium.

Speaking in an interview with Citizen TV, Jubilee vice chair David Murathe said that every Jubilee leader who participated in the NDC where Deputy President William Ruto was nominated as UDA's presidential candidate in the August election seizes to be a member of the ruling party, and by extension should vacate office.

According to Murathe, the leaders can not continue enjoying the benefits that came with their political seats yet they have abandoned the political party (Jubilee) that sponsored them to the parliament.

"The Political Parties Act and Kenya's Constitution say that if you move from the party that took you to your position, you are deemed to have resigned from the party. Technically, all those people who went to the NDC and participated in it are considered members of UDA and not Jubilee," Murathe said.

The vice-chair further noted that Jubilee Party will soon seek an advisory to the Speakers of National Assembly and Senate demanding the expulsion of all Jubilee members who participated in the UDA's NDC from both Houses.

Murathe said that Jubilee will not only seek to purge the MPs alone but also seek to get rid of other political leaders including Governors, Senators, MCAs and the Deputy President who were present at the event.

"We are going to check with the Registrar of Political Parties if it is indeed true that those people who went there as delegates are members of UDA. We will also write to the Speakers of the National Assembly and the Senate to ensure that those who are affected partake their seats which will be declared vacant before the elections," Murathe said.

"We will write to the speakers to expel the MPs whether there will be enough time to conduct by-elections before the general elections or not. The speakers will have to declare the seats vacant," he said.
