Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has rubbished claims that he held a meeting with President-elect William Ruto.

Speaking during a burial ceremony at Mukalala village in Yatta, Machakos County, the former Vice President dismissed the claims stating that he would meet Ruto after consultations with Azimio and Wiper.

While stating that individuals with ill motives fueled the rumours, Kalonzo explained that the photos purporting that he had met the Kenya Kwanza leader were taken in 2018, when the outgoing DP visited him after he lost his father.

"Ruto came to see me when I lost my father in 2018. They say that I went to see him," he stated.

"If I want to meet him, I will do it openly after meeting with Azimio and Wiper members. We forgive. We have every reason to forgive each other as we lay to rest mama Elizabeth,"

He further highlighted that despite not agreeing with the ruling of the Supreme Court delivered on Monday, September 5, 2022, his team will abide by it for the country's sake.

"We disagree with the Supreme Court verdict but abide by it. We will swallow our bitterness for the sake of this country," he stated.

The Wiper leader congratulated Ruto on his victory. He also noted that the Azimio coalition was ready to be the opposition.

"It is good for us to be in opposition to deal with these people. Five years is a short time. We are going to serve in opposition to our level best," he added.

At the same time, he also announced that he had officially begun his Presidential campaigns ahead of 2027.

"We will give Yatta dam a priority. Even if we are in opposition, we will push for its construction, among other things," he said.
