Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka now says that he is ready to work with Azimio la Umoja movement regardless of whether ODM leader Raila Odinga supports his presidential bid or not, so long as there's a structured framework.

Speaking during an interview with NTV, Kalonzo said that after consultations, he has concluded that he and his colleagues in One Kenya Alliance (OKA) have to work with Azimio la Umoja ahead of the general election.

The former vice president said he is ready to work with the ODM boss under a grand coalition government that will bring together OKA, and Azimio la Umoja; with its partners Jubilee and ODM.

"After deep consultation with my party and OKA, we have agreed to work under a three-pillar structured dialogue within a grand coalition of Azimio and OKA.

"That is a bigger consideration and within that framework (involving Jubilee, ODM and OKA), we have no option but to work with Raila Odinga.

"If we come to a conclusion where the three pillars are put in place, then I will be happy to support anybody including Raila," Kalonzo said.

Adding: "If the deal forms the basis of the negotiations, then Raila has no option but to follow it but if he refuses then he would be compounding the trust deficit which brought about the collapse of Nasa. But if it comes to that we will cross up the bridge.

Kalonzo's statement comes hours after he insisted that he would only engage Raila in dialogue only if the deal he had with him in 2017 is put on the table and adhered to. According to the said deal, Raila was to support Kalonzo's 2022 presidential bid after the Wiper leader supported him in 2017.
