Wiper Democratic Movement party leader Kalonzo Musyoka is in Juba, South Sudan where he is expected to hold talks with President Salva Kirr.

Musyoka was received by Kenya's ambassador to the country Barnaba Marial Benjamin.

"I was welcomed by Ambassador Barnaba Marial Benjamin and South Sudan's Minister for Presidential Affairs to the State House, Juba, for talks with H.E. President Salva Kirr on the peace process in South Sudan," he posted on social media.

Kalonzo's visit to the country comes when his former co-principal in the defunct NASA coalition Raila Odinga is expected to declare his quest for the presidency in a much-publicized Azimio la Umoja event at Kasarani stadium on Friday, December 10.

Kalonzo was expected to attend the event but it is now almost clear that he will not manage to grace it.

While attending Kalonzo's declaration to run for presidency last month, Raila weighed in on the possibility of working with him ahead of the 2022 general elections.

"Our roads may meet again," Raila said.
