Kanu joins race for Juja MP seat

Dorcas Wanjiru Chege has been given certificate to vie for Juja upcoming by-elections using the Kanu ticket

Campaigns for the upcoming Juja by-elections have intensified after the independence party joined the race by issuing a certificate to its candidate Dorcas Wanjiru.

Wanjiru who will be flying Kanu flag high in Juja promised to deliver to the residents vowing to deal with the problems of water shortage.

"I have been in Juja for sometime and I understand the problems these people are facing. Though I'll serve for one year, am ready to live a mark which will be remembered forever," she said

Juja by-election campaigns have continued to intensity with candidates shifting from the Jubilee camp over fears of being rigged at the party primaries.

The latest to decamp is George Koimburi who was to vie using the Jubilee Party ticket.

Koimburi’s withdrawal from Jubilee came days after Ken Gachuma and Eunice Mugo left the United Democratic Alliance after the party announced it will not be fielding a candidate.

Koimburi is vying using People's Party a party which fronted by Moses Kuria.

The Jubilee party now has Susan Njeri wife to the late MP Francis Munyua Waititu alias Wakapee as the most key Jubilee Party ticket contender alongside Naftaly Rugara Muiga a lecturer at JKUAT.

Juja is largely a peri-urban constituency with a population of more than 280,000 people.

Poor infrastructure, unemployment, and housing crisis are some of the major issues that shall need to be addressed.
