Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka has refuted claims that he has ditched the ruling Jubilee Party for Wetangula's Ford-Kenya party. In a statement posted on his social media platforms, the ex-county chief termed the reports that have since stormed the internet as misleading.

"It has come to my attention that some misleading information is circulating on Social Media where it is claimed that I have joined Ford Kenya," Lusaka's statement.

The Senate Speaker stated that, he was for the better part of the day, holed up in a meeting with the top brass of the Ford-Kenya party but did not declare any intentions of joining the Wetangula-led party.

"Let me state that this is not true. What is true, however, is that today I met the top leadership of Ford Kenya led by my brother Senator Moses Wetang'ula in Nairobi. At no time during our meeting and discussion did I declare to have joined the party," he added.

He maintained that the said meeting was purely consultative and part of the many meetings he has been holding ahead of the dissolution of the senate as he weighs his options ahead of the August polls.

"When the time for me to make a decision as to which political party I shall operate within at the time of the elections, I shall gladly share that decision publicly with the rest of the country in the presence of the media," he concluded.
