Ministry of Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho has revealed the names of Kirinyaga politicians who allegedly organized the heckling of Martha Karua during her homecoming rally, a day after she was picked as Raila Odinga's running mate during August 9 polls.

Kibicho named Governor Anne Waiguru and the Kirinyaga county assembly majority leader Kamau Murango as those behind the Tuesday incident.

Speaking at Gatugura market in Gichugu constituency while on an inspection tour of a government project in the area, Kibicho said it was not only immoral for such behaviour but disrespectful to the persona of Karua who is a DP in waiting.

Kibicho said Karua having been nominated for the Azimio’s presidential running mate was such a great honour not only to the people of Kirinyaga but to the entire country, especially to the womenfolk.

"We cannot have a Kirinyaga where there is no law and order. Organize your meeting and sell your agenda, if the people like it, they will vote for you. There is no need to organize hooligans to boo leaders, and it's Waiguru and Murango who have been doing it," Kibicho said.

He urged leaders to stop the habit of misusing the youths by paying them to shout and to cause chaos during political functions like the Tuesday one where they kept hurling insults at Karua and her entourage.

Kibicho also asked the residents to consider the many development projects the Raila /Karua led government would initiate in the area hence the need to ensure they voted for the political formation come August 9th.

He said the presidential contest will be between Azimio’s Karua and Rigathi Gachagua of UDA.
