Bahati Member of Parliament (MP) Kimani Ngunjiri has denied endorsing Lee Kinyanjui's bid for a second term as Nakuru governor.

Ngunjiri said he was taken out of context, terming a video circulating online as fake.

"I did not know I was this powerful. I attended a Madaraka Day celebration held in my constituency where Lee had organised it as an Azimio event. He came with his supporters who were shouting his name throughout the event," Ngunjiri told journalists on Sunday, June 5.

Ngunjiri said he was yet to endorse anyone for the seat.

"I am in UDA (United Democratic Alliance) and we have a candidate, but I have not endorsed anyone," he said.

He urged UDA governor candidate in the county Susan Kihika to concentrate on looking for votes and not endorsement.

Ngunjiri and Kihika do not see eye to eye despite being members of the same party.

"We are focused on national politics to ensure William Ruto becomes the president. Susan should stop insulting me everywhere. She did not marry me," he said.

Ngunjiri said he has always supported Susan whom he now says lacks respect for him.

"Susan should leave me alone. She is busy supporting my opponent who is in another party. But I want to tell Lee and Susan to leave me alone," he said.
